The former MLS player, Aaron Boupendza, died after falling from the 11th floor of an apartment building in China, since the authorities reported an investigation into his death.
Hey, he was 28 years old.
Boupendza, who has been living in the eastern province of Zhejiang, where he played for Zhejiang FC in the Super League China, was at home when he fell at his death on Wednesday.
“We are sad to listen to the tragic adjustment of the former forward of FC Cincinnati, Aaron Boupendza, today at his home in China,” wrote the MLS Club de Boupendza FC Cincinnati in X declared published in X.
“Our hearts are with his family, friends and loved ones. He was a beloved member of the FC Cincinnati family, and we sacrifice our condolences to all who knew him:
The team could not contact Boupendza when he did not attend his most recent training session, Turkiye Today reported.
Boupendza was inside his apartment with his brother before he hit the tragedy, according to the exit, citing Chinese police reports.
An argument supposedly broke out between the two brothers.
The authorities are investigating whether Boupendza was pushed and will determine whether the fatal fall of the football star was the result of suicide, homicide or an accident.
No judgments have been made, but Boupendza’s brother is expected to be questioned in death, the outlet reported.
Boupendza was his professional career with Gazélec Ajaccio in Ligue 2 of France, where he appeared in 10 games and scored 6 goals in the 2018-2019 season.
A year later, he moved to Türkiye and starred Haatayspor in Süper Lig in Türkiye.
In his only season in Türkiye, Boupendza ended up as the top scorer of the league with 43 goals in 36 games.
After Türkiye, Boupendza played a season in Saudi Arabia before moving to the MLS and Jining FC Cincinnati in 2023.
Boupendza appeared in 24 games for FC Cincinnati in two seasons, making 11 openings and scoring 7 goals.
He was celebrated as a great false teammate in his time with his native national team in Gabonese.
“At age 28, Boupendza is remembered as a great striker who caused an impression in (Confederation of African football) in Cameroon,” wrote the Gabóne Football Federation.
After his letter at the MLS, Boupendza returned to Europe and played for Romania’s rapid bucure that before heading to China during winter.
Boupendza was also a member of the National Gabon team between 2017 and 2023.
It started in 23 of the 28 games in which it appeared, with four goals.
