Ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo picked up another key labor support on Tuesday, obtaining an impulse from the Union of Workers of the Pieces that also cools a spark to Jessica Ramos.
The union announced that it would support Cuomo as his number 1 option for the mayor in the 2025 elections, Ramos, now a state senator, was his support in second place.
Ironworkers is the third work union, along with 32BJ and HTC, to support Cuomo in the last 24 hours of signaling by increasing the impulse in its campaign among blue neck organizations.
Ramos, who also serves as a labor president of the state Senate, gets a position while being surveyed, the former governor and companions of Queens Sen. Zohran Mamdani: who did not receive a editor of the organization.
Iron workers recognize the deep participation of Ramos with working people and families in their support:
“Senator Ramos has been a champion of labor rights and working families during his career, standing with shoulder with union members in picket lines and in the corridors of the legislatures,” said the president of the Ironaros of the state of New York, Pete Meyers.
Ramos said the work movement “raised.”
“This campaign is about the construction of a New York city where a good job is enough to keep New Yorkers living with dignity. No one is better equipped to help me fulfill that promise than organized labor.
A Cuomo spokesman said in a statement the support of the Union: “He promoted his history of building iconic infrastructure projects such as the Mario Cuomo bridge and Laguardia airport, while good wages and opportunities for its members.”
