Bay Area News Group boys athlete of the week

Editor’s note: We prohibit the use of bots and any other artificial voting method. No email vote: The votes by email and after 5 pm on Wednesday they are not counted.


Welcome to the news group from the Bay area (Mercury news AND East Bay Times) Children Athlete of the week survey.

Throughout the academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out during the previous week and will allow him, the reader, to vote for the winner.

This week, we consider actions from April 7 to 12.

The surveys close at 5 pm on Wednesday.

Vote as many times as you want until then without using bots or no other artificial voting method.

The votes by email and after 5 pm on Wednesday they are not counted.

The winners are announced every Friday online and in the print edition of the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections.

Candidates for future athlete surveys of the week can be nominated at highSchools@bayareenewsgroup.com.

We accept nominations until 11 in the morning every Monday.

We also review the statistics presented to MaxPreps By coaches/team statistics.

In the nominees:

Nate Bateman, Bellarmine Baseball: The senior was 3 of 7 with a homer and three races promoted in three games. Bellarmine has 10-8 this season.

Mario Fausto, Sequoia Baseball: Faust’s double led Sequoia to a 10-9 victory over the king’s Academy. Sequoia (8-6) receives Hillsdale on Wednesday.

Kaiden Gonzales, Gilroy Track and Field: Gonzales occupied the first place in the bullet launch in the 34th Bill Kearney Invitational with a launch that was 54-06.00.

Cooper Han, Menlo School Tennis: Han, a senior, compiled three individual victories in straight sets against Priory, Sacred Heart Prep and Granite Bay in the singles No. 1, which takes the knights to the team’s victories in the three clashes.

Preston Huang, Mountain View Baseball: Huang, a second-year student, launched a complete whiten of the game in Mountain Views 4-0 Win About Aragon. Mountain View (10-5) is scheduled to organize a farm on Friday.

Diego Laredo, Amador Valley Track and Field: The Junior crossed the finish line at 10: 35.02 to occupy the first place in the 3,200 race at the Amador Valley Spring Fling.

Jordan Medina, James Logan Baseball: Medina was 3 of 6 and totaled four ranked races, three races and four bases stolen in two games against Newark Memorial. James Logan six of his last seven games.

Brendan Moddelmog, Dublin baseball: The Senior had two hits and called two races in Dublin’s 7-3 victory over Alhambra. Dublin is 14-2 this season.

Jackson Murphy, Lomas Baseball: Murphy had two extra-base hits, three ranked races and was walking twice in the 6-3 Lomas victory over Archie Williams. Lomas is 5-6-1 this season.

Colton Vick, Freedom Baseball: Vick had a triple of base cleaning in the victory of Freedom 7-2 over treasure. Freedom is 7-6 and will be the host of Pittsburg on Tuesday.

Kyle Welch, The King’s Academy Track and Field: Welch Tok first place in the 100 -meter race at the West Bay Athletic League match.
