On April 16, 2007, Seung-Hui Cho, a 23-year-old Virginia Tech student, killed 32 people on the Virginia Tech campus before taking their lives. It is still the most deadly school history in the history of the United States.

In 1945, a Soviet submarine in the Baltic Sea Torpedó the MV Goya ship, which Germany was using to transport civil refugees and wounded soldiers. Up to 7,000 people died when the ship separated and sank minutes after being beaten.
