Marcus Stroman received an injection into the knee on Saturday, but the Yankees expect it to be the reach of what he needs to return to the mound.

Stroman, who landed on the 15 -day injury list on Saturday with the inflammation of the left knee, received a cortisone after a magnetic resonance revealed swelling but nothing more, according to manager Aaron Boone.

“Waiting for not long,” Boone said Sunday morning before the final of the series against the giants. “The magnetic resonance was good, but I had some swelling there somewhere. Trying to eliminate that, hopefully, it accelerated it quite fast and hopefully it is something that really helps to advance.”

Boone was an insecure that Stroman was launching through the injury that entered at the beginning of Friday or suffered in rain and cold conditions, when he registered only two giving five races on three walks and four hits.

But seeing the video of that beginning, Boone said that it could notice that Stroman did not finish his delivery correctly on his front leg (left).

“I think that was due to the knee,” said Boone.

In three openings this season, Stroman has yielded 12 races won in 9 1/3 tickets while walking seven and yields 12 hits.

The veteran right has an option to award $ 18 million for next year that will activate if it launches 140 tickets, although this period of IL will not help your case for that.

Clarke Schmidt will replace Stroman in the rotation, ready to get out of the injured list to make his debut in the season on Wednesday against the Royals at Yankee Stadium.

Schmidt had decreased his leg in the back and shoulder problems, but accumulated up to 61 pitches in his last beginning of rehabilitation on Thursday.
