A transgender rights activist is urging the Democratic Party to continue the fight on trans problems, claiming that “science” supports its side.
“It’s very easy to fight trans problems,” said activist Charlotte Clymer on Saturday during “The Katie Phang Show” of MSNBC.
“Science is on our side,” Clymer added. “Every credible medical organization has come out and backed the attention that gender affirms and said that the transferable prohibition is ridiculous and unnecessary … but the more we defend ourselves, the more republicans they are in Democrats. In bad faith and participate” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “” “
Recent studies, however, indicate worrying statistics for those who have undergone a sex change operation. A study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine found that the rates of depression, anxiety, disorders of substance use and tendency to suicide were “significantly higher” among those who underwent a sex change surgery, evaluated two years later.
According to the study, which had a sex change surgery, it had rates of depression or 25% compared to men who did not undergo surgery (11.5%), and anxiety rates between that group were compared with 12.8% compared to 2.6%. Women who had sex change surgery had depression rates or 22.9% compared to 14.6% in the non -surgical group.
Clymer is a veteran of the Army and former press secretary of the Human Rights campaign, a LGBTQ defense organization, whose Charlotte substitute, web thoughts, “covers” the policy, religion, culture and humor of a Trans Christian woman. “
The transgender activist is concerned that more Democrats are not further away from the subject.
“I am not seeing much struggle for democratic leadership in Congress, and that is a big mistake,” Clymer said. “The problem with this thought is that we have an open objective. No one defends it. Why not Republicans would not continue to kick that goal?”
The contrast, the activist added, is with the Republicans, which has made the problem a definition of its platform.
“Only one game is really talking about trans problems. It’s the Republican Party,” Clymer said. “They have made transjus one of their central themes in the campaign and national discourse.”
Fang, who interviewed Clymer, told Republicans “Fearmonger” on the subject.
“They love Mears. That is their currency,” said Phang. “Galvanizes people to vote based on fear, not in fact. I always like to say that you do not vote on feelings, vote on the facts.”
Clymer said that if the Democrats do not improve with their messages, they could cost them.
“The more the Democrats ignore this, the more he will chase us again in future elections,” Clymer said.
