A Michigan teenager was sentenced to prison after informing a false bomb threat on the carnival cruise that his girlfriend and family lit without him, after annoying, left him at home to see his pets.
Joshua Darrell Lowe, 19, was sentenced to eight months in prison on Monday for making a false bomb threat, which forced Carnival Corp. to review more than 1,000 rooms on board after the ship, started from Miami, in January 2024, prosecutors said.
Lowe, who lived with his girlfriend and the new family in Muskegon County, a bomb reported on the ship because it was an annoying life at home to observe their pets while sailing towards Jamaica, prosecutors said.
“FBI agents tracked Lowe’s email address, which lived with their girlfriend’s family,” said US prosecutor Nils Kessler in a judicial presentation.
“Lowe admitted that he sent the message because he was upset because the family leaned down on the cruise, while leaving him behind to take care of his pets.

“Anyone who makes a bomb threat should display to be tasks in his word. Fortunately, this particular deception did not result in physical injuries,” Kessler added.
Carnival Cruise Lines received the false council in an email in January 2024 that he warned: “Hello, I think some could have a bomb in their cruise for dawn,” said the US prosecutor’s office last year.
The cruise, Sunrise, had just left Miami and headed to Jamaica when the threat came, authorities said.

The ship’s staff looked for more than 1,000 Romans after receiving email.
The United States Coast Guard and the Jamaican authorities also involved in escorting the ship to port.
According to the reports, Lowe apologized for his actions in a letter to the United States District Judge Paul Maloney, writing: “All this is my fault and assumed all the responsibility.”
