Rangers destroy Islanders to keep long-shot playoff hopes alive

The Rangers cling to their hopes of playoffs with a thread.

A 9-2 victory over the islanders on Thursday night in UBS Arena may have stolen the elimination of the Blueshirts from the containment of playoffs at the moment, but it is only delaying the inevitable, with the Canadians ready to interpret the senators in Ottawa on Friday night and only one point to end the season of the Rangers.

This victory may have arrived against a team that is apparently as selfless as they are, but the Rangers managed to take a streak of three games of three games in their last three games of the regular season.

Even so, there are no wines to feel good when you no longer have control of your own destiny at this time of year.

However, the fact that the Rangers swept the New York battle for a combined score of 23-5 this season, is perhaps the only positive side of what is still a gloomy situation.

The islands, which will also be eliminated if the Habs get at least one point on Friday night, have lost eight of their 10 games.

Having been surpassed 17-6 in their previous three games, the Rangers made sure to take care of this in the first period on Thursday night.

The goalkeeper of the Rangers, Igor Shesterkin, was in his game and made 44 saves to help this happen.

They supported more time in the offensive zone within the framework of opening than more than a week.

The result was a dominant 4-0 advantage in the first intermediate.

Will Cuylle and the rest of his line with JT Miller and Mika Zibanejad established the early tone, surpassing their 2-0 opponents and surpassing 6-3 while they were on the ice in the first period.

A Miller Cuylle’s fall pass led a Wibanejad Wrister who opened the scoring in the 3:15 brand. Cuylle then followed a rebound later in the period to take a drought of 10 games and give the Rangers a two -goal advantage.

The Rangers then scored their second power of power in the last three games to climb 3-0, with Vincent Trophack, pretend a movement to the network to bury only his fifth goal of the season.

However, at the end of the period, the islanders achieved their best impression of Rangers.

Trophack entered the offensive zone with only a former defender of the Rangers turned into the blue of the island blue Tony Deangelo in front of him. Artemi Panarin joined and hit Trophack’s feed in an open network with 43.4 seconds in the first.

Despite obtaining a 20-6 outshot during the second period, the Rangers still maintained a considerable advantage in the second intermediate.

Juuso Parsssinen extended for the first time the advantage of the Rangers with his first goal/point since he was acquired from the avalanche on March 1, burying the album in an enveloping movement for the 5-0 advantage.

The islanders were able to avoid money laundering with a Maxim Tsyplakov’s power game, but the Rangers still chased goalkeeper Marcus Högberg of the game, even if it is only temporarily.

The first of Brett Berard’s two goals and the first since March 2 forced the chief coach of the Islands, Patrick Roy, to pull Högberg in favor of Tristan Lennox, who made his debut in the NHL in relief after facing Hartford Wolf’s herd on the ahl the previous night.

After Berard scored his second in the game, Roy chose to put Högberg back in the goal.

Alexis Lafrenière continued running the score later in the third period.

The first selection of 2020 evaded Ryan Pulock Duration a 2 race against 1 with Chris Kreider and buried that it fits Högberg.

A fluible goal from Panarin then wore the score at night.
