NYC inks new $250K contract to relocate homeless, migrants out of the Big Apple

The homeless New Yorkers and now migrants to jump into the city are getting a free travel ticket from the Big Apple.

The city homeless service department has signed a new $ 250,000 contract with the Alpha International Travel Corp. reservation agent, to relocate some of the almost 100,000 refuge residents for homeless people in the United States. Migrants seeking to leave New York City will also be accommodated, as part of a renewal of the DHS travel program.

“This program will also help with the relocation of new arrivals,” said a spokesman for Mayor Eric Adams. “The rationalization of thesis operations will allow us to continue closing more emergency shelters and help migrants abandon our system to take the next step on their trip.”

The new ticket with a trip is illustrative of how much City Council continues to deal with a persistent problem of homeless, despite the fact that the migration crisis decreases.

An amazing amount of 97,100 people remain in the refuge system from last week, including 40,800 migrants.

The administration of Mayor Eric Adams has already transported 61,000 asylum applicants in other places, through a separate migrant reconnection program, since 2022. Around that period, more than 234,200 migrants have the admission of the city.

That means that more than 193,000 migrants have moved to the care of the city since 2022, according to city officials.

“Thanks to Our Nation-Leading Management of This Crisis-Including Our Successful Reticking Program-We Have Seen Over Nine Straight Months of The Migrant Population defline in ur Shelter System, 62 Migrant Shelters Will Be CLOSED BY JUN, AND WE HAV HAV HAV HOV Hall, A Have Saved Hall, A Have Saved Hall, A Have Saved Hall, A Have Saved Hall, A Have Saved Hall, has Saved Halled Hallion Halled Hallion Hallion Hallion Hallion.

The city officials emphasized that they are not transferring random migrants to other cities such as Texas without any prior planning.

The program began for the first time for the residents of shelters for homeless people in 2007, under Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

It is considered an investment that is worth it, which costs the city hundreds of dollars per ticket instead of tens of thousands to keep someone in the refuge system.

The DHS paid 1,881 unidirectional tickets to move refuge residents for homeless people out of Gotham in 2024.

“The reconnection programs of New York City provide the reflexive relocation of traditional refuge clients and clients to be closer to friends and family or other opportunities or community ties in a measured and coordinated manner with the expressed interest of the clients we serve, not use these people as a political trick,” said a city official.

Traditional people and migrants or migrants or migrants must have housing options or a viable place to live, a strong family or other connection with destiny or work, to be eligible.

The city also continues to operate a reticking program for migrants outside the refuge system.

And thousands of migrants remain housed in hotels in the city, outside the traditional system.
