Los Angeles (AP) – The thieves were corrected through a concrete wall to obtain access to a jewelry in Los Angeles, leaving at least $ 10 million of watches, pendants, gold chains and other goods, police said.
The robbery occurred around 9:30 pm on Sunday at Love Jewels on Broadway in the heart of the Down jewelry district, according to officer David Cuellar with the Los Angeles Police Department.
The researchers were reviewing security camera images that are shown
“They tunished through multiple levels of concrete in the target location,” Cuellar said on Tuesday.
An unknown number of suspects fled through the same hole and left in a late Chevy truck, he said. The robbery was not discovered until store employees came to work on Monday morning.
Initial estimates are that goods were stolen worth $ 10 million, said Cuellar, adding that the number could change. The owner told The Associated Press that the loss was around $ 20 million and that they were not safe. An alarm is not customary and the feeding of their security cameras in the store.
In the store on Tuesday, the workers covered the hole in the wall with a metal plate, repaired other damage and cleaned the overloaded showcases and the discarded boxes. Two large boxes were divided, which contain all the merchandise they had in the store.
Customers and friends stopped to sacrifice sympathy, and some even asked to buy items.
The Love Jewels website announces items such as an 14 carat yellow gold rope chain for $ 1,200, gold -shaped gold earrings for $ 200 and a gold pendant for $ 550. The videos on the social networks of the store show glass cases full of rings, watches and necklaces.
The detectives examined the scene for digital footprints and DNA, police said.
