Knicks vow they’re not looking past Nets in season finale

Nothing was more important than Nets.

Shortly after the confrontation of the first round with the Pistons was established, the Knicks had other things in the mind, having matched their losing streak of the season.

He encouraged Tuesday, when the Knicks lost the opportunity to hit the reigning champions, losing their advantage to the Celtics in the last seconds of regulation and the game in extra time.

Two days later, the Knicks blew an advantage of 13 points in the second half in Detroit.

On Friday, the Knicks coughed an advantage of 23 points to the Cavaliers.

So what happens if the final of Sunday’s regular season in Brooklyn has no impact on the playoffs view? So what happens if it comes against one of the league’s sausage teams?

Knicks are not in a position to treat any time as meaning.

“We’ll talk about [the playoffs] Once the 82 games are played, “Jalen Brunson said after Friday’s defeat.” We have to enter this next game with the correct mentality, the correct mentality and have a short -term memory. You can’t let things like this persist. It is important to have a short -term memory at this time and continue advancing. I know it’s difficult. I know it seems that it is Bs, but it is literally what we have to do right now so that we are better.

“We have to go one more game, and then we can talk about all that.”

After facing the two best teams at the East Conference and their next playoff opponent, the Knicks (50-31) have the right confrontation to rediscover their trust.

The Nets (26-55) have lost the three meetings with the Knicks this season and have been 5-20 since February 22, regularly being a youth and inexperienced alignment that only Brooklyn Diehards could be identified with precision.

The Knicks have gone 35-8 against teams with a losing record this season. This will be his last chance for another tray, and his 51st victory of the season, which would make the franchise the most in the years of boxes, before game 1 against the Pistons next weekend in Madison Square Garden.

“We have to find what makes the team successful and work on that,” said Josh Hart. “Obviously, playoffs basketball is a different level. Physicality accelerates. Intensity increases. So we have to make sure we spend this physical week, but, more importantly, mentally.

Josh Hart said that Knicks have to raise their physical and mental game before the start of the Knicks playoff series against the Pistons.

“We are not playing close to our best basketball. I think this week, we will see situations and how to take us to our best basketball … … we will solve it. But we have to leave and end the season of the straight season.”

In preparation for the postseason, Tom Thibodeau has relaxed his total mentality, giving rest to Hart, Og Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson on Thursday, before sitting at Karl-Anthony Towns on Friday.

The Knicks coach would reveal his alignment plan against the Nets.

“We need to improve as a team. We need to get rhythm,” said Thibodeau on Friday. “That is always the question that everyone has. It is rest in the rhythm. I think that each team has to make the decision of what is best for their team. And in our case, we trust in the medical one. [but] Keep fighting to run through the finish line. “

Pistons can wait.

“We will get there, we get there,” said Thibodeau. “We are still going to have one more game.”
