Ilhan Omar responds to 2026 Senate run rumors with a different announcement

The member representative of the “Squad” high profile Ilhan Omar Effective closed the rumors that he would see the seat open in the Senate of Minnesota in 2026, with an announcement by launching a re -election offer of the House of Representatives.

“At a time when our rights are under attack, it is more important than ever fighting chaos, corruption and insensitivity of the Trump administration,” said Minneapis Democrat to Minnesota Public Radio.

“In Minnesota, we know that organized people will always exceed organized money. Our campaign is ready to build on our successful basic organization efforts to have a registration service for interior tasks and help recover most.”

She won the last race for the fifth seat of the Congress district easily, defeating the republican journalist born in Iraq, Dalia al-Aqidi, for about 50 points.

Omar had been one of several names with the potential successors of Senator Tina Smith, D-minn., Which announced last month that he would not see re-election.

Almost immediately, his companion Democratic Lieutenant Peggy Flanagan threw his hat into the ring, while Omar and other potential candidates remained silent.

One of Omar’s “squad” members, representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., has been rumored as a main opponent of 2028 for the leader of the Senate minority Charles Schumer.

“I only know that we have a deep bank. We have good people,” said Walz, who in his place can consider a third mandate in St. Paul.

If chosen, Flanagan, who is Ojibwe, would be only the fifth American senator of the American native heritage and the second currently in office, together with the Republican of Oklahoma Markwayne Mullin.

On the Republican side, the Marine Seal and Retired Marina Adam Schwarze announced an offer and called it his “most important mission of all.”

In addition, former Sacramento player Kings Royce White announced his own offer. White previously lost the primary of the Senate of the 2024 Republican Party.

The Smith’s success race will be the land of the first open race of the 10,000 lakes since 2006, when Dayton refused to run for re -election and Senator Amy Klobuchar defeated the then repetition. Mark Kennedy, R-minn., For about 19 points.
