Wikipedia has become a powerful weapon in the political arsenal of the left. Initially launched to democratize access to information, it has been degraded through partisanship.
It is no longer a direct source of facts, Wikipedia today is pure left propaganda, and its intense campaign against vice president JD Vance is the last example of his bias.
The América Division of the Expression Center of the Media Research Center has previously reported how Wikipedia editors aggressively deployed the platform against almost all the high -level cabinet nominees of President Donald Trump, including the defense now before his Senate confirmation audiences.
But his methods were already well tested by then.
The stealth pumps of the cabinet were simply an extension of a worrying pattern of editorial deception aimed at Republicans and conservatives.
In the spring and summer of 2024, Wikipedia and his army or anonymous editors launched a mass smear campaign against one of Trump’s main vice presidential contenders, then Sen. JD Vance of Ohio.
These publishers made almost 900 cutting reviews to the Vance Wikipedia page in less than three months, the vice president of VPE President of VP from the end of April to mid -July.
We detail these findings in a new MRC report, published Thorsday.
Meanwhile, the duration of this critical period when the term “JD Vance” was recorded online, Google algorithms continued to give Wikipedia tickets in their search results in their search results, increasing the presentation of the falsehood of the platform as a fact.
MRC’s investigation found that in 2022, before launching his career in the US Senate, Vance’s Wikipedia page painted it in a positive light, including bipartisan praise for his “Hillbilly Elecia” best selling.
In the course of a period of five years (March 2017 until May 2022), around 500 editions were made in the Vance Page-Far less than the Wikipedia Hit Hithe team in just a few weeks in 2024.
Wikipedia editors did not rush their computers to correct grammar errors.
His avalanche of editions reflected an initiative of coordinated and deliberate electoral interference.
It was an attempt to death by a thousand cuts, or 883 of them, to be precise.
For example, Wikipedia editors inserted a new section, “Relationship with Donald Trump”, which exaggerated the comments that probably cause friction between the president and his possible fellow formula, while minimizing the subsequent pro-trump change of Vance.
In another case, the editors tried to reformulate Vance’s positions on immigration and border security as “extreme right”, even battery of the then senator to house “white nationalist views”, an unpleasant insult in the light of the Indian inheritance of his wife Usha.
Wikipedia’s turn against Vance was in 2022, when he entered politics for the first time as a Republican.
At that time, the platform not only questioned Vance’s motivations to run for the Senate, but rewritten them.
The editors rework the page of the then candidate to suggest that he founded the non -profit organization of OH Renwal to lay the foundations for a political career, do not fight the opioid crisis that devastated his native state and his form of Natal Lotyyton State and much of many appalas, and more of many things of Appity, and much of many things of Apalay, his book told.
The support for this statement was simply the saying of the opponent of the Senate of Vance, the Democrat Tim Ryan.
Wikipedia also added accusations that Dr. Sally Satel, a psychiatrist affiliated with our Ohio renewal, immediately had links with the dishonor Purdue Pharma. Satellly denied any relationship with the company, however, the accusation was still live for millions of Lean.
The Vance input of Wikipedia also labeled as false, the verifiable statement that President Biden’s open border policy had caused a fatal flooding of fentanyl in Ohio, omitting the key context and subcontracting its facts verifying the new Yostile of the New Yostile Republican hostile.
Essentially, Wikipedia created an artificial opioid crisis connection for the potential Republican vice president, while denying the very real Catastrophe of Opioids from Biden.
The Wikipedia editors came to add a negative review of “Hillbilly Elegy” to the Vance page, one that ruled out the book as a “neglected analysis” or “collections of people” in “América de Flyover”. It is a criticism that was completely absent from its profile before becoming a prominent political figure.
The corruption of Wikipedia, as MRC has repeatedly demonstrated, is undeniable.
However, Google and other important search engines continue to raise the thesis and pages biased to the top of their search results, as we have documented, which makes Wikipedia’s wrong information the first impression for millions of Internet users.
It is still invoicing as the “free encyclopedia” of the world, but Wikipedia has become nothing more than the tool of an ideology that happily uses United States institutes against their own citizens.
