An airline traveler said that he recently encountered a seat swapper on a flight, and claimed a family “guilt” to the person to the change seats.
In the “R/Delta” forum in Reddit, the publication was titled, “Yes. It happened to me”, since the person headed for a ski journey.
“I registered early, put my seat next to the window. And I really like snow from the window plane,” the user wrote.
“AND [at] At the last minute, the assistant separated me. “
The person said the flight attendant “asked me if I could change my seat with a family that travels with a baby, and asked [for] My window seat. The flight attendant told me that they had paid for my seat, to which I replied that I also paid for mine. “

Reddit users took the comments section to discuss the exchange meeting.
“The next time that happens, request a coupon or some kind or compensation,” a user suggested.
A Redditor commented: “You could have it … you know, not moved. Keep the seat for which you paid.”
He joked to another user, “Of course, I’ll change. Throw me to first class.”
Another user said: “Never cave. I sat there and enjoy all their attitude.”
People also commented on the notion of blaming “families” for seat changes, with other parents intervening.

Gary Leff, an expert in the travel industry with Texas headquarters and author of the blog “View From The Wing”, told Fox News Digital that passengers should plan their desired seats in advance.
“Sometimes they reserve late, and there is little available. Or a flight is canceled, they get on a new flight and need to help together,” Leff said.
In those cases, he said, it may not be reasonable to expect other passengers to bother themselves to help.
“A small child who wants a window makes sense. The child could melt without her! But the baby will not have a strong window preference,” Leff said.
He added: “It seems that parents were using status as parents to obtain what they support.”
Leff suggested that passengers seek to exchange seats consider negotiating with other passengers.
“You are much better looking for the exchange seats offering something equally good, or better, than asking someone to give up what they prefer and get something worse in return,” Leff said.
