An apple a day won to keep Ellen Pompeo remote.

The “Gray’s Anatomy” star, 55, has revealed that he would never hang his thickets and leave the popular medical drama forever because “they would like money” if he did.

Pompeo, who starred Dr. Meredith Gray in the long ABC series from the premiere in March 2005, recently discussed the “emotional” and “financial” matter by interviewing El País.

“That would not make sense, emotional or financial,” Pompeo said when asked if he would ever leave the beloved series permanently. “The show was broadcast more than one billion times in 2024. More than one billion times.”

“The companies that have the program and transmit the program earn a lot of money with our images, our voices and our faces,” he continued. “If I had to get away, everyone can make money with my hard job for 20 years, and I would like money.”

Pompeo explained “It makes no sense” that everyone but she benefited from her “hard work” after 21 seasons, and added that, from an emotional perspective, “Gray’s Anatomy” means “much for” the millions of fans of the program.

“For me, it makes no sense that everyone benefits from my hard work,” he said. “And emotionally, the program means a lot for people. I want to have an attitude of gratitude towards the show.”

In another part of the interview, the “good American family” star argued why he decided to follow a closer role in “Gray’s Anatomy.” While Pompeo still serves as the main narrator of the stores, it does not appear in each episode.

“I have done it for 20 years, so it was time to get away,” he explained at the exit. “I have three children, and I love spending time with them, and I love Bee involved in their lives. I am very lucky to be able to work sometimes and take a free time. I have a good balance in my life.”

As for his last role as Kristine Barnett in the new Hulu series “Good American Family”, Pompeo said it was “exciting” and “scary” playing a character that was not Dr. Meredith Gray after more than 20 years.

“It was at the same time exciting and terrifying,” he admitted. “People have their legs watching me in the same role for 20 years. I have played the same role for 20 years. I had no reason to believe that anything else could do.”

“I had tried in 20 years, and I can’t expect my audience to believe me like anything else,” Pompeo added. “If I’m going to ask you to see me as a new character, then you better deliver all fronts.”

Before his interview with El País this month, Pompeo arrived at the headlines to open on the initial salary gap between her and the former co -star of “Gray’s Anatomy” Patrick Dempsey at the beginning of the first season of the program.

“He was salty that he obtained what he got,” said the actress in the podcast “called her dad” in March. “I was salty that they wouldn’t value me as much as they valued, and they will never.”

Pompeo later renegotiated his contract and, by 2018, he became the best paid actress in a television drama, bringing $ 20 million per season or “Gray anatomy.”
