The New York City Developer of the city of New York, Scott Rechler, has the mission of remodeling the future of Manhattan, and the horizon.
As CEO of RXR, Rechler has $ 17 billion in properties under its administration, but also finds time to take advantage of the MTA Board and the Board of Directors of the Bank of the Federal Reserve of New York, which gives it a deeper understanding of the infrastructure of the city and its challenges that in almost any other person in Manhattan.
A New Yorker of a lifetime born in Long Island, Recomer’s optimism for the city’s potential is attenuated by the realism that success in the city is never guaranteed.
“New York … has been demonstrating that it can rebuke bigger and stronger, but it is not something that is anticipated and it is something that we cannot take for granted,” he told me.

In the midst of a dramatic return to the office, high -end offices are booming, with companies such as JPMorgan, not only build more space but also cling to temporary offices.
“When companies ask employees where they want to work, 80% say New York,” says Recechler.
But employers are opting for high -end buildings with modern amenities, leaving the so -called glamorous quality B quality B fighting to find tenants. That has created a new opportunity to convert these properties into apartments, and accommodate the new people who flood the city.

“There is a situation in which it has empty office buildings and there are not enough homes, so we are finding ways to convert it,” explains Recechler. “Now there are 15 million square feet of office buildings that are in the process of becoming residential.”
This change is already remodeling the neighborhoods in the same way that the center of Manhattan remodeled after September 11, when it was from the city where people worked in an area where people live. “
