Aaron Carter’s twin sister, Angel Carter Conrad, believes she is alive today because she was the “careless” girl.

Angel, the youngest of five brothers, and the member of Backstreet Boys, Nick Carter, the eldest of the breeding, have lost two sisters and a brother all in drugs related to drugs.

Leslie Carter died in January 2012 at the age of 25, pop star Aaron died in November 2022 at age 34 and Bobbie Jean Carter died in December 2023 at 41.

“I really think that from an early age, because I was careless, he finally saved me,” Angel, 37, tells Page Six in an exclusive interview about his new documentary Paramount+, “The Carters”, directed by Soleil Moon Frye.

“I spent a lot of time in social environments with my friends and their families, sitting around a table, really talking about our day,” he says.

Angel feels that his brothers did not have the same girl or “normal” experiences.

All were raised by Mother Jane Carter and Father Bob Carter, who died in May 2017 at age 65. Angel believes that the sudden death of the patriarch by a heart attack was also related to drugs.

According to Angel, Carter children are the products of generations of dysfunction, substance abuse, mental illness, physical and emotional abuse, infidelity and greed.

Nick, 45, found fame in the music industry at an early age, which inspired Aaron, whom he was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder as an adult, to follow his steps to the even younger age.

Bobbie Jean and Leslie were also equipped musically, but Bob and Jane seemed to put most of their focus on the children, who brought the money.

Angel tells us that he has always had a sense of “openness” and “much respect and love for [her] On the other hand, “that served him when he reached the most” fundamental “and” defining “moment of his life in 2006.

“After we finish filming [the reality show] ‘Casa de Carters’, the last day we were at home, Nick sat us all in the living room and said:’ Who wants to go to therapy? I will pay it, ”he recalls.

Angel was the only one who raised his hand because, as he explains, he had a genuine desire to “break the cycle.”

“So I went to therapy, and Nick paid me to go to therapy for almost a decade later,”

“It really was a decade of intense therapy as an 18 -year -old boy, 19 and then through my 20 years, learning everything again.”

Her shared desire to “make change” is the reason why Angel says that she and Nick “have such a good relationship” today. Unfortunately, they are also united by trauma.

“I always say that there is a person in my life that was what was to grow in that house, and it is Nick,” Angel tells us.

“So we really have that connection. It is a feeling to which you are going; they are not just the memories, do you know what I mean? As, you return to that feeling. You can take advantage of that at any time and people.

Angel adds that she is “incredible grateful and grateful to” have Nick “in those moments of complaint and weakness,” pointing out that “he always raises the phone.”

She continues: “I always say that never because not crying for my brothers and my father and for all these losses is at those moments that he really feels more connected to them.”

He thought Angel has been “in this path” of fatal overdose “many times”, he regrets that losing “a twin hits you differently”, especially because Aaron remained “very close” despite the different paths they play.

“I feel so connected to him. I only know him very well. I know what his messaging is, now,” he shares.

“I felt this need to want to share Aaron’s story because I know Aaron so well and so intimately, and I know what a good person was in his nucleus and how much he loved people and helped Eather’s people.

“I know that if Aaron had his leg in his healthy judgment, this is what he would be doing with his life, he would be helping people and presenting people.”

In his search to understand addiction, Angel learned that helping others plays an important role in the recovery of all children.

“So, for me, helping other people who are going through pain and are going through loss and trauma has an incredible bone healing,” she says.

Aaron’s death inspired Angel and her husband, Corey Conrad, who married in February 2014 before welcoming her daughter Harper, 6, to get involved with the Children’s Mental Health Foundation, the leading health of the health of the organization for children in the United States.
