Oscar Piastri knows exactly where things went wrong in qualifying at the Miami GP

Miami, Florida – When Oscar Piastri lost to his teammate Lando Norris in the F1 Sprint race today at the Miami Grand Prix, the pilot introduced intense that “won buying any lottery tickets in this place.”

That lack of luck continued in the afternoon.

After publishing the third fastest round in the first quarter and then heading the time sheets in the second quarter, Piasstri was formed with P4 in the qualification for the main event of Sunday.

Speaking with the media, including SB nationAfter qualifying, Piesti knew exactly where he went wrong and who blames.

“Yes, I mean that this afternoon it had nothing to do with luck. It is simply not the level of execution I needed to have in the third quarter,” Piastri began. “Never, it is never a great qualification session when your best round is in the first round of Q2, so it was enough on the table.

“Only some errors in both laps in the third quarter, which is a shame.”

Piasstri pointed out curve 1, which saw him jump to the front in Sprint F1 race earlier in the day in a battle with the rookie Kimi Antonelli, as where he went wrong for him in the Q3.

“Both laps in the q3 fought [Turn] 1.

“I think I lost almost two tensions in curve 1, and then my first round in the third quarter I won it a bit for the rest of the sector and then I fell in the middle.

“The last one who could recover something at the end, but was not enough, so it had nothing to do with the preparation.

“It was alone, the execution of driving, unfortunately.”

The McLaren pilot said that the MCL39 had enough pace this weekend to ensure the position of the pole for both Sprint F1 career and for the Grand Prix, but both he and Lando Norris lost the pole in both qualification sessions.

Piastri declared that driving the MCl39 “just at the limit” remains a problem.

“You know, there are still some things with our car that we want to try to address and drive it directly on the limit is one of them.

“I think this weekend has enough rhythm to be in Pole. It’s just that I haven’t done a job as good as it should, unfortunately.

“I think it is always tight of the leg, the gap always close to the leg, and potentially our advantage has been a little more Sundays,” Piaastri continued. “But I think our image or where we are always lost that if we make mistakes we are going to scaro, and that is true.”

Even so, even with how Friday and Saturday have played here in Miami, Piaastri is still sure that he goes to Sunday. Even if finding some clean air and fighting on the front could be difficult.

“You know, the qualification will continue to make a big difference for tomorrow, so it will not be easy to progress.

“But I have confidence.”
