Computer pirates can “vandalisme” the results of other people on a quantum computer, say the researchers, who warn that the problem will only get worse as the devices become larger and house more simultaneous users, unless manufacturers connect the safety gap.
Sharing access to hardware exputing is a common practice, either in classic supercomputer or exotic quantum chips. Classic devices to execute multiple programs for many different users at the same time, but there are security measures to prevent one user from affecting another.
