The newly discovered colony of Pavona Coral in the Red Sea
Red Sea Global
The researchers have discovered a giant coral colony on the northwest coast of Saudi Arabia, in a part of the Red Sea that is being developed as a luxury tourist complex.
It is suspected that the colony, a characteristic within a reef composed of a specific type of the small animal that builds coral known as polyp, is of the species Pavona ClavuS and measures approximately 30 puts for 21 meters, so it is likely to be the largest discovered in the Red Sea.
