With Covid-19 and the flu season soon, a question that many can have is what medications will reduce fever. Below is a brief list of free sales medications to reduce fever:

Acetaminophen (also known as paracetamol): The brand is Tylenol

Aspirin (also known as acetylsalicylic acid): Many brands include this chemist. Bayer is an important supplier or aspirin.

Some forms of exception contain aspirin and acetaminophen.

Ibuprofen: brands include Motrin and Advil.

Naproxen (also known as Naprosyn): the brand is Aleve.

Aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen are called NSAID, which means non -stars anti -inflammatory drugs. These medications also reduce inflammation by inhibiting the enzymes involved in the production of prostaglandins. The same enzymes that prostaglandins are also involved in the manufacture of molecules that promote blood clotting. Then, thesis drugs also harm blood coagulation. Through the reduced production of prostaglandins, these medications reduce fever, pain and swelling.

Acetaminophen is not a NSAID. It is a fever and the pain that reduces medication, but does not reduce inflammation. Acetominophen is metabolized in a molecule that acts in the brain to reduce fever and pain. In people who take medications in the blood dilemma, acetaminophen is a safer fever reducer than any of the NSAIDs.

Many medications for allergy, cold and flu and migraine medications include a NSAIDs or an acetaminophen. Read all labels carefully to make sure that it is not cheaper than the incoming dose.

Consult your doctor if you are not sure what is appropriate for you.
