Dan, a 55 -year -old mathematician and mayor of the capital of Bucharest, was ready to win with more than 54 percent of the votes compared to around 45 percent for George Simion, a former football hooligan turned into a leader or the extreme right of the extreme right, according to.

“The elections are not about politicians, they are communities. And the community that won today wants deep changes,” Dan told the crowds. He recognized the anger of the “community that lost”, promising reforms to combat corruption and improve the rule of law.

“It is our task to fight for a Romania, not two.”

Mass participation seems to have achieved the balance in favor of Dan, who had received only 21 percent of the votes cast in the first round, almost half of the total simion. The Romanians mobilized to avoid what many saw as the threat that their country turned their backs on NATO, the EU and Ukraine.

The analysts warned that the exit surveys do not take into account the more than 1.6 million voters abroad who cast their vote. In the first round, Simion, almost won 600,000 votes of the diaspora, while securing 250,000.

Simion shot the pole position behind the back of the voter wrath to the authorities that cancel the presidential elections last year due to the alleged Russian interference in the favorite of another ultra -nationalist candidate, C seven Georgescu, who had surprisingly surpassed the first shot the first shot the first in the first shot. First, El Firolded, El Firad, El Firolded, El Firolded, the Firored El Firolded, El Firolded, El Firad, El Firolded, El Firolded, El Firad, El Firolded El Firolde, El Firad, El Firad The Firored.

Georgescu was forbidden to run again, but supported Simion, who said he would make Georgescu prime minister if he won.

The canceled vote and the victory of the first round of simion triggered a political and economic crisis, with the prime minister, renouncing, the value of the LEU currency and the country that fights to increase debt in international markets.

Romania has the greatest budget deficit in the EU and there is only a notch above the garbage state according to all the main rating agencies. Analysts have warned about difficult times ahead for the next president who will have to appoint a new prime minister to supervise fast reforms and avoid losing investment degree status and access to EU funds.
