The rockies are shaking things after a horrible beginning of the 2025 mlb season.

The Franchise of the Hensley Meulens fire coach on Thursday, replacing it with former manager Clint Hurdle.

Meulens had been Colorado’s batting coach since 2022 after a letter with the METS in 2020.

“We have produced offensively,” said the general manager of the Rockies, Bill Schmidt, of MLB.com. “It is a bone a fight so far. We are looking to change the voice here with Clint. And I have nothing more than respect for” Bam Bam ” [Meulens]His work ethics and his knowledge as a baseball. I wish you anything more than the best. We just needed to change some direction with the offensive to work. “

In the direction of Thursday’s work, the rockies classified the last one in WRC+ (65) and led the largest with a stur as strikeout rate of 29.6.

He thought they play in one of the most friendly stadiums for the batters in the league, the 12 home runs were tied for the second best in baseball this season before Thursday’s action.

“It is a bone a fight from day one with the strikeouts and the lack of production,” Schmidt continued. “We believe that this movement will help. Clint is the right person at the right time, with his knowledge with the majority of the group of positions here that has worked on the minor leagues. There are only four or five five guys have not been.” “” “

The team will now resort to Hurdle, who spent 2002-09 as the Rockies manager, with 534-625 and taking the franchise to its first and only appearance in the World Series in 2007.

Before becoming a manager, Hurdle served as the 1997-2002 rocky bat coach.

After his period in Colorado, Hurdle spent nine seasons as the pirates manager, making the postseason three times.

With 3-15 and riding a streak of six loser games, the rockies have the worst record in baseball.

Colorado has lost more than 100 games in each of the last two seasons and has not gathered a winning campaign since 2018.

Despite another slow beginning, Bud Black is still the manager of the Rockies, a position he has held since the 2017 season.

“Buddy has done a good job: it is a difficult situation at this time,” said Schmidt. “I think it’s a positive influence. Our boys come to play hard every day, and that’s what I’m seeing. As I said, I’m looking for growth to continue developing, and Buddy is the right person for that. Together with Clint helping [to] Have this offensive go in the right direction, I think good things will happen. “
