Not only did sales drop in the important China market in April, its business there has reportedly continued to decline this month. Yet shares jumped today. Tesla stock was 5.5% higher as of 2:58 p.m. ET. That reaction may have been due to CEO Elon Musk’s visit to Saudi Arabia along with President Donald Trump and other U.S. business leaders. A Miami football player was found to be the driver in a two-car crash that killed three people in the other vehicle, two of which were children, police said on Monday. The Pentagon is immediately halting all gender transition treatments for transgender troops as it moves to remove them from the military, according to a new memo.  “I am directing you to take the necessary steps to immediately implement this guidance,” Stephen Ferrara, the acting assistant secretary of defense for health affairs, wrote in a memo dated May 9. Now the Pentagon will only cover mental health and counseling for gender dysphoria. A federal judge on Monday denied an injunction request to prevent the Department of Homeland Security and Internal Revenue Service from partnering to permit U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) to access taxpayer information to locate illegal immigrants subject to deportation.  The order by U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich came amid a lawsuit by Centro de Trabajadores Unidos, an immigrant-rights aid group, against Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.  “At its core, this case presents a narrow legal issue: Does the Memorandum of Understanding between the IRS and DHS violate the Internal Revenue Code? The market was on fire early on Monday after President Donald Trump announced the reduction of tariffs on Chinese imports from the self-imposed 145% to 30%, for at least the next 90 days.
