Zharnel Hughes ready to rewrite history as GB’s fastest man explains mindset change

The British record holder of more than 100 meters and 200 meters became a father in the winter and believes that the new mentality leaves him in a good position to finally land the world championship medal in Tokyo this year this year

Zharnel Hughes at the Paris Olympic Games

Zharnel Hughes is determined to change almost a man’s narrative with the fastest sprin of Great Britain in the hope that the strength of the new father can drive him to the global medal he gave to Kraves.

The national record holder of 100 meters and 200m last year saw his Olympic dreams of Paris destroyed by an injury to the hamstrings. But after having welcomed a baby in mid -winter, Hughes, 29, says he is now looking at life differently, since he gives his opinion for the past for disappointments in the September World Championship in Tokyo.

When the capital of Japan organized the games four years ago, he began in the final of 100 meters and then had a relay that Silver stripped after the teammate CJ Ujah was caught doping.

But with the body of Hughes “feel good and strong” and several solid races already in his belt in the Grand Slam series of Michael Johnson, he is in a good place early in an unusual long season.

And the possibility of stepping on the same track that brought the lowest moment of his career does not have a sense of fear.

“It would be incredible to rewrite the story,” he says. “I moved from (Tokyo), it has already gone now, but I am anxious to go out to compete.”

Hughes is interested in the demonstration and maintains a daily newspaper that traces each high and low, but instead of the problems of the old heavy on his shoulders, his experience is becoming one of his strongest assets.

This season there have been a couple of races in which he has noticed technical problems when leaving the blocks, but did not panic and ended strongly.

Zharnel Hughes was disqualified for a false beginning in Tokyo’s Olympic final.

Hughes Risly says that “I don’t want to think about approaching 30 years next month, but has acquired a new wisdom.

“I have changed as a athlete,” says Hughes. “It was always my job, but now I know that I need to take care of my son.

“I look at him every day, I hear that he laughs, and I feel that my mentality has changed. I just care more. As long as I make it happy and keep it and the family is good, I am happy.”

He knows that departing soon for a summer tour in Europe before going to Asia at the beginning of autumn will be difficult and are already practicing facetime routines.

“It will be easy, but it must be done,” he adds, and if he can bring that medal back home, everything will result in HORTH
