Burgin has the habit of starting his season with style, but he has managed to shake the problems of Achilles that bother him last year. However, despite handling the injury, he still managed to reach the Olympic final, which was won by Wanyonyi in a 1: 41.19 blistering when Burgin finished eighth in 1: 43.84 after 1: 43.50 bp in his semi.
