Mohamed Katir appeals four-year tampering ban

The Athletic Integrity Unit has paid the appeal presented by Katir and is now pending before the Sports Arbitration Court

Mohamed Katir, who was prohibited for four years after an independent disciplinary court ruled that he committed manipulation, appealed the decision.

The Spanish, an important multiple medalist, received the ban in December, which currently extends until February 2028.

The Athletic Integrity Unit (AIU) has obtained the appeal presented by Katir and is now pending before the Arbitration Court for Sports (CAS).

When Katir received his manipulation prohibition, the 27 -year -old was already fulfilling a two -year prohibition for missing three doping tests in 12 months.

This four -year prohibition is aimed at the competition with its sanction of Whaebouts failures, which means that it loses the next two world championships in Tokyo and Beijing, but can compete in the 2028 Olympic Games.

The other two faults of Katir’s whereabouts were on April 3 and October 10, 2023. His results since October 10 were already disqualified.
