Murad Sirman established a new meeting record twice in one day and a route winning the 400m obstacles on the last day of the 23rd National Athletics Championship of the National Cup of the Junior Federation at the Madan Mohan Malviya Sports Stadium in Prayagraj on Tuesday.
The Sirman of Gujarat, participating in his first competition for the year, registered 50.75 seconds, finished more than 1.5 seconds and almost 15 meters ahead of Bhushan Patil of Karnataka.
Sirman improved the previous Durgesh Kumar Pal record (51.76 seconds, 2012) in the semifinals with a moment of 51 seconds before doing it again at night.
He also established a new meeting record, Anushka Yadav by Uttar Pradesh, continued his impressive way to launch 60.46 meters per gold in the hammer launch and adding to Hen Junior National Record established in February.
J. Pandiyan (21.33s) and Neikha V. (24.44s) completed twice the 200 m for Tamil Nadu, both brands of better personal times. Bhavya Pilania, from Bangoon and an apprentice from the JSWS Academy there, achieved 47.64m for the gold of the javelin. Dipesh Choudhay of Rajasthan touches the male gold with 72.98m.
