Google operates illegal ad monopolies that ‘substantially harmed’ customers, judge rules

Google operates illegal monopolies on two separate markets related to digital advertising technology, a federal judge ruled on Thursday, treating the great technological giant, another historical antitrust place results in a break in its online empire.

The bomb ruling of the American district judge Leonie Brinkema in the Federal Court of Virginia determined that Google violated the Sherman law by dominating the advertisement servers market of the online editor and the Ad-Exchange exchange market that connects advertising buyers with sellers.

“Google further strengthened its monopoly power by imposing anti -competition practices on its client and eliminating the desirable characteristics of the product,” Brinkema wrote.

“In addition to depriving the rivals of the ability to compete, this exclusion behavior substantially harmed Google’s clients, the competitive process and, ultimately, to information consumers on the open web,” the judge added.

Google’s Alphabet Matrix shares were out of 1.2% to $ 153.64 in morning operations on Thursday.

The Department of Justice has argued that the Court should force Google to sell its digital advertising products, especially the Google advertisements, which includes both the editor’s advertisement server and its announcement exchange.

A second test phase will be held to “determine the appropriate remedies” to address Google monopoly, Brinkema said.

The ruling is another great legal blow for Google. Last year, a federal judge ruled in a separate case that Google has an illegal monopoly on the online search market.

The Remedios Phase for that trial will begin on Monday, with Seijs prosecutors a forced sale sale or its Chrome web browser, among other solutions.
