In December, Sheppard, 48, degraded the Chief and Officer Assistant to command the Department Integencial Operations Division, records reviewed by the post show.

A source of application of the law called it “a movement down but a soft landing.”

It is not clear why it was degraded.

A month before, however, Sheppard was caught with his boss, the New York Police Commissioner Tom Donlon, in the New York City Marathon, when the Sheppard tried to bombard a group photo.

The sources at that time said that Donlon and Sheppard, then personnel chief, had to be removed separately.

Sheppard raised $ 276,588 in 2024, according to Seethrourghny.

The former commander of the 28th enclosure in Harlem, Sheppard was appointed attached commissioner of public affairs, who deals directly with the then Media Police Commissioner, Edward Caban in August 2023, and more than what doubled the staff there from 40 to 86.

The veteran police also stirred the feathers when he started the large apple of his traditional lair on the second floor in a police square and in a modular building outside.

Sheppard’s rocky relationship with the media reached a high point last year, he calls the City Council desk as “F – King Scumbag” after the journalist called a number of Patrol’s head John Chell while he is official.

Despite the controversy, Sheppard received several praise for his police work over the years, including two awards for the meritorious police duty and one for excellent police service, according to the records.

The New York Police did not respond immediately to a request for comments on their decision to withdraw.
