Islanders’ Adam Pelech exits after taking blow to head to start offseason

Arriving through the end of the season as healthy as possible is perhaps the highest priority at this time for the islanders, but they could not verify that box on Sunday.

Adam Pelech left the team’s 1-0 victory over the Devils in the second period after a check at Paul Cotter’s head and did not return, with the islanders citing an injury at the top of the body.

“I don’t have any update for Pelly, but that’s the son of the blow we don’t like,” said coach Patrick Roy. “Child of Hit that we don’t want to happen for any game.”

Cotter received a penalty for the coup, which left Pelech with a bloody face.

The defense was boiling after the work, hitting his helmet to the ice and shouting Cotter.

Pelech has a brain shock history, which makes it more worrying if it is a head injury.

21 games had already been lost this season, 20 with a broken jaw suffered in November and one with a right -footed problem that arose after blocking a shot.

The club could choose to give another attempt to Adam Boqvist, or give Mike Reilly what would probably be a swan song as island, with the defender the last time he played on March 26. Scott Perunovich, who sat from March 1, could look.
