Battered nuclear engineer appears in court after husband allegedly tried to push her to her death off cliff in Hawaii

The nuclear engineer whose husband anesthesiologist supposedly tried to kill her on a walk in Hawaii, made her first public appearance in the court on Friday and, according to the reports, suffered injuries that lasted the attack.

The renowned nuclear engineer Arielle Konig, 36, wore a clear stitch just below her right eye while sitting at the forefront and the center at the first audience for the 46 -year -old husband, Dr. Gerhardt Konig. He seemed to ask the court to extend his resting order against Gerhardt.

The court granted Arielle and Gerhardt’s request will have to stay away from her and her two children until the order expires or extends again.

At the audience, Arielle wore a black and white floral head holder. The alleged attack left it seriously injured and required surgical treatment, but it is not clear if the headdress was used to hide new scars.

Prosecutors said Arielle was attacked by her husband with a rock and multiple syringes that contain an unknown substance before trying to get her out of a cliff. Police said the attack, after Arielle refused to take a photo on the verge of a picturesque cliff viewpoint.

Gerhardt fled, and nearby hikers called 911 around 10:30 am that morning. While Arielle’s injuries were treated in a nearby hospital, there was a six -hour human hunt for Gerhardt. It was possible captured after a feet search and accused of attempted murder.

Arielle’s tumultuous six -year marriage appeared in detail to the court on Friday. Gerhardt had applied it applied or had an adventure, while Arielle said he assaulted her sexual.

The couple originally moved to their home of $ 1.5 million in Maui in 2022 for Gerhardt’s “dream work”. They have two young children in their family, including at least one of Gerhardt’s previous marriage.

Gerhardt’s medical license is still active, but was suspended by Maui Health while launching an investigation.
