“He started calling me on a regular base from the thing of the tablet they have,” said former New York Times interview presenter in an interview published on Saturday. Reuters

“He told me about his life, what he is doing in prison and, for the first time in my life, I felt safe enough to trust and be vulnerable and love a heterosexual man.”

Lyle, 57, and his brother, Erik Menéndez, were convicted of first degree murder after killing their parents, Joe and Kitty Menéndez, in 1989.

They were sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of probation. However, they are currently giving resentment that, if approved, could make them eligible for probation immediately.

O’Donnell, 63, revealed his relationship with Lyle, in 1996 after an appearance in “Larry King Live”.

At that time, she expressed her belief that the brothers killed her parents as an act of self -defense, said in court that they were abused and abused by her parents, and lit a letter thanking her support.

O’Donnell claimed that “she and her brothers had been bothered by her father,” and Lyle felt that “she” knew “from a personal place that what he said was true.”

“At that time, I had not ventured anywhere near this in my family or in my therapy,” he told Times, adding that he initially responded to Lyle.

It was not until 2022, when O’Donnell saw a documentary about the case and discussed it as a barrel that she reconnected with Lyle.

Lyle’s wife, Rebecca Cut, approached her to “see if she was interested in talking to him,” O’Donnell revealed.

His first telephone conversation lasted three hours, and since then they have been close friends. He has also visited Lyle in prison.

The confession of the “Flinstones” star occurs only one week after he confirmed that he moved to Ireland to escape President Donald Trump and would return “when it is certain that all citizens have the same rights.”
