The San Jose Sharks could not remain outside the penalty box on Friday night against the Edmonton Oilers, and cost them any possibility of finishing their extended loser streak.

Sharks play five penalties against the oilers, all Stick fouls, including Alexander Wennberg’s shot in the 5:54 mark of the third period. Only 1:38 later, Corey Perry scored a power set goal, breaking a draw and helping to give the sharks a loss of 4-2 in Rogers Place.

The sharks also allowed a first -period power goal to Evan Bouchard, they left 3 by 5 in the penalty death and extended their losing streak to eight games.

Will Smith and Henry Thrun scored for the sharks, who allowed three goals of power for the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday night. San José’s road trip continues Sunday against Calgary’s flames.

Connor McDavid had four assists for the oilers, who achieved a place in the playoffs.

The death of sharks reached Friday in the 29th position in the NHL with 73.6%.

Thrun scored his second goal of the season in the 5:44 brand of the average period. After taking a William Eklund pass in the Oilers area, Thrun, from the boards, shot the album to the fold, where he left Darnell skater and goalkeeper Calvin Pickard to tie the game 2-2.

The goalkeeper Georgi Romanov, who still looks for his first victory in the NHL, is scheduled to start Friday’s game. Romanov faced the Oilers on April 3 and made 35 rescues in a loss of 3-2 sharks. For the season, Romanov is 0-4-0 with a savings percentage of .873.

The Oilers entered Friday with 95 points and thirdly in the Pacific division and only needed one point to ensure a place in the 16 playoffs of the team for the fifth consecutive year.

The sharks entered on Friday five points behind the Blackhawks of Chicago for the 31st place in the NHL. To avoid finishing in the 32nd and the last place for the second consecutive season, the sharks would have to pick up at least six points in their three tranmente games and make the Blackhawks lose the last three games in the regulation time.

Whicever Team ends in 32nd will have the best opportunity (25.5%) to win the NHL draft lottery next month. No team has ended in the last place in general since the Buffalo Sabres brought at the end in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

The Sabres have not yet reached the playoffs since 2011, when the general manager of the sharks, Mike Grier, now 50, was on the Buffalo list. Sharks have now lost playoffs in six consecutive seasons.

The sharks play two minor penalties in the first period and followed 2-1.

Just six seconds after Smith was called Slashing in the 6:41 brand, Bouchard Tok a McDavid Connor pass and shot a shot from the point that crossed a screen and fits Georgi Romanov to give the Oilers a 1-0 advantage.

In the 15:41 brand, McDavid established another team, while separated from Timothy Liljegren and found former Ty Emberson shark defender for a rear tap in the goal and a 2-0 advantage in Edmonton. The goal was Emberon’s first in 73 games with the oilers this season.

The sharks recovered that 1:32 goal later. After a lawyer from Celebrini, Nikolai Kovalenko picked up the album along the boards and found Smith, whose low shot found the short side in Calvin Pickard for his goal 18 of the season and his fifth goal in his last four games.

Friday’s game marked the return of the defense Jan Rutta, who lost the last 27 games with an injury at the bottom of the body and was played for the last time on January 23 when the sharks faced Nashville predators.

Rutta, who was in an injured reserve, returned two days after defense Mario Ferraro suffered a broken ankle in the 8-7 defeat in extra time of the sharks against Minnesota Wild on Wednesday. Ferraro blocked a Matt Boldy shot at the end of the second period while standing near the shark network.

This season, Rutta, who plays mainly on a third pair role, has eight points in 51 games, averaging 17 minutes in ice time.
