Gaza sees new flow of aid after U.S.-backed group takes over operations – National

A new help system in Gaza opened its first distribution centers on Monday, according to a group backed by the United States that said it began to deliver food to the Palestinians who face the growing hunger after the blockade of almost three months of Israel to press Hamas.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation is a taking of the handling of aid despite the objections of the United Nations. The desperately necessary supplies began to flow in a day that saw the Israeli strikes kill at least 52 people in Gaza.

The group said that food loaded trucks did not say how many, they had been delivered to their centers, and the distribution to the Palestinians had begun. It was not clear where the centers were located or how those recurring supplies were chosen.

“Tomorrow more trucks will be delivered with help, with the help flow every day,” said the foundation in a statement.

UN groups and aid have backed up the new system, which is backed by Israel and the United States. They claim that Israel is trying to use food as a weapon and say that a new system won is effective.

Israel has pressed for an alternative aid delivery plan because he says he should prevent Hamas from taking advantage of. The UN has denied that the militant group has diverted large quantities.

The Foundation begged operations one day after the resignation of its executive director. Jake Wood, an American, said it had been clear that the Foundation would not be allowed to operate independently. It is not clear who is financing the group, who said he had appointed an interim leader, John Acree, to replace the wood,

The organization is composed of former humanitarian, governmental and military officers. He said that his distribution points will be protected by private security companies and that a million Palestinians would reach, about half of the population of Gaza, at the end of the week.

Under the pressure of the allies, Israel begged to allow a drip of humanitarian aid in Gaza last week after blocking all foods, medications, fuels or other goods since the beginning of March. Help groups have warned about the famine and say that the help it has arrived is not close enough to meet the growing needs.

Hamas warned the Palestinians on Monday that they do not cooperate with the new help system, saying that it is destined to promote those objectives.

The Israeli air attacks killed at least 36 people in a schoolchary converted into a blow that was beaten while people slept, which set their belongings on fire, according to local health officials. The army said he attacked militants who operated from school.

Israel renewed its offensive in March after finishing a high fire with Hamas. He has promised to take control of Gaza and continue fighting until Hamas is destroyed or disarmed, and until he returns to the 58ths, a third of them that is believed to be alive, of the attack of October 7, 2023 that ignited the war.‘They are really fighting’: the Palestinian Canadians fear for loved ones in Gaza

The militants led by Hamas killed about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped 251 people in the 2023 attack. The retaliation offensive of Israel has killed around 54,000 Palestinians, according to the Ministry of Health of Gaza. He says that more than half of the dead are women and children, but does not distinguish between civilians and combatants in their account.

Israel says that it plans to facilitate what it describes as voluntary migration or around 2 million people in Gaza, a plan rejected by the Palestinians and much of the international community.

Israel’s military campaign has destroyed vast areas of Gaza and displaced internally 90% of its population. Many have fled several times.

The strike in school in the Daraj neighborhood of the city of Gaza also wounded boxes of people, said Fahmy Awad, head of the Ministry’s emergency service. He said a father and his five children were among the dead. The Shifa and Al-Ahli hospitals in the city of Gaza confirmed the general toll.

Awad said the school was hit three times while people loosen, setting fire to their belongings. The images that circulate online showed rescuers who fight to extinguish fires and recover Charled remains.

The army said he attacked a militant command and control center within the school that Hamas and Islamic jihad used to gather intelligence for attacks. Israel blames Civil Deaths to Hamas because it operates in residential areas.Humanitarian aid has not yet reached people in Gaza, UN says

A separate strike in a house in Jabalya in northern Gaza killed 16 members of the same family, including five women and two children, according to the Shifa hospital, which received the bodies.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian militants fired three Gaza projectiles, two of which fell short within the territory and a third that was intercepted, according to the Israeli army.

The ultranationalists march in East Jerusalem, they break into a UN complex

Police watched closely while the protesters jumped, danced and sang. The event threatened to inflame tensions that abound in the beginning of the beginning in the middle of almost 600 days of war in Gaza.

Hours before, a small group of protesters, including an Israeli member of Parliament, assaulted a compound in Jerusalem that belongs to the UN Agency for Palestinian refugees, which Israel has banned. The complex has a leg of most empty since January, when the personnel were asked to remain away for security reasons. The UN says that the complex is protected by international law.
