The Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) has transferred indigenous developed diagnostic technology to quickly detect tuberculosis (TB) to a private company for commercial production, according to an official launch issued on Thursday.

The ICMR Regional Medical Research Center, North EAST (ICMR-RMRC NE) has announced the successful transfer of its Crispr-based diagnostic technology indigenous for the ultra-sensitive and rapid detection of TB to the medical diagnostic firm for large-scale marketing.

The transfer of formal technology to Meril Diagnostics was implemented by signing a memorandum of agreement (MOA). This development reaches a crucial situation as India intensifies its efforts towards the ambitious objective of the elimination of tuberculosis.

“This important technological advance underlines the commitment of the Institute to address the critical challenges of medical care, partly in the fight against TB, a disease that India is determined to overcome,” said the statement.

The diagnostic system, completely conceptualized and developed in ICMR-RMRC NE in Dibrugarh, includes three key components, integrating experience in molecular biology, engineering and software development.

“This indigenous platform repeats a significant advance in the creation of affordable and scalable attention point diagnoses, partially crucial for unattended regions.

“By allowing a rapid and precise diagnosis at the community level, this technology directly supports the aggressive strategy of India to identify and treat all cases of TB with the developed technology of Estiging,” the statement said.

When commenting on the development, the principal researcher, Dr. MD Atique Ahmed, said that innovation unites high -end molecular biology with the real -world field utility.

“We are proud to contribute a solution made in India for a disease that remains an important national health challenge, and we believe that this technology will be a crucial tool to achieve the ambitious objective of the elimination of India’s TB,” he added.
